meditation through the arts

Hi Matt, I’d like to allign what we do with the new outreach plan. This would create a space for homegrown music too, although I hope to feature multicultural exchanges – music, arts and crafts. (To hear Delhi Chaya’s angelic Raagas would be sublime…) I was recently inspired in Togliatti by artists from Novosibirisk and Veronish who said they introduced the public to Sahaj meditation through Music Appreciation classes or events, so I am trying the same in 2009. Am blocking out 4 “Music Appreciation” gigs in 2009 that will feature one of the 4 elements of nature and the balancing of its attendant chakre) Am looking for venues, then will put out the call to those who can fit the bill. Whatever we do here in Seattle we’ll take to Vancouver on the same gig timeframe. Thanksgiving concert “Courage to Fly” for battered women, “Young at Heart” Winter Concert ( What’s your availabilty like? How might you fit in. When last we talked briefly at one of the West Coast Seminars I think you said you wouldn’t mind having a songwriter’s conference at your place, ala Sundance Festival for the pen. Any more thoughts on that. So far Sanjay’s available for vocals – now in Victoria – and some singers in San Diego are game – Sylvia, Sergey and Lina (Russians)... Astara PS I ran into some great flamenco musicians in Cabella – perfect for the uptempo summer gig – but don’t expect to leverage a loan till year end, though am getting limited matching funds from a bank so far. |
