Billy Sherwood and Circa

I recently befriended Billy Sherwood, guitarist extraordinaire for Yes and now bassist  for his new band, Circa. He has turned out to be one of the nicest people I've ever met - I should have known that the Yes camp is littered with enlightened souls. Billy invited me to a Circa rehearsal so I went and visited with him, his brilliant guitarist Jimmy Haun who played with ABWH as well as some Jon Anderson solo records, an equally brilliant drummer by the name of Jay Schellen who's sitting in for Alan White and another of the kindest gentlemen of rock royalty, keyboardist Tony Kaye. Tony goes way back to the first incarnations of Yes in the late '60's (that first record is one of the best in the world) and Alan White goes back to the early '70's for some of Yes' greatest records. What a great day and I am now a devoted fan of Circa. Billy's bass tone and technique was mind-blowing and about 100 times better than mine - meanwhile I've seen him touring with Yes as a guitarist! Very scary. Prog rock is still alive, and Circa are waving the flag.
